Point-Of-Sale (POS) settings

How do I set up my cash register? This article delves into it.

Sales Channel Settings

  1. Go to your BackOffice.
  2. On the left menu, click on [Sales Channels].
  3. Select the sales channel where your POS is located.
  4. Click on [Settings]. Here you can customize the following according to your preferences:
  • Information: Change the name of this sales channel.
  • Payment Settings: Choose which payment methods should be visible on the POS. Note that some options may require additional actions, such as pinning returns and loyalty points.
  • Hospitality Options: If the mode is set to Hospitality.
  • Receipt Settings: Customize the header and footer text of the receipt. The logo on the receipt is the black-and-white logo set in 'Company Information'.
  • Customer Screen Settings: Configure settings for the customer display.
  • Location Information: POS address details.

POS Buttons

  1. Go to your BackOffice.
  2. On the left menu, click on [Sales Channels].
  3. Select the sales channel where your POS is located.
  4. A dropdown menu will appear with options like [Dashboard], [Sales Report], [POS Buttons], and [Settings].
  5. Go to [POS Buttons].
  6. Here you can set up to 18 quick keys.
  7. Click on one of these buttons to modify it.
  8. Here you can set Button type, Button text, and Button color.
  • 'Product': Assigns one product to a POS button, useful for items like plastic bags.
  • 'Product (variable price)': Similar to 'Product', but prompts for a price when clicked, which needs to be manually entered on the POS.
  • 'Gift Card': Quickly create a gift card on the POS.
  • 'Customer Card': Create a customer card on the POS.
  • 'Category': Opens a new window on the POS displaying all products in the selected category.
  • 'Category (variable price)': Similar to 'Category', but requires entering the price manually after selecting a product.
  • 'Gift Card Top-Up': Used to top up previously sold gift cards, useful for reuse.
  • 'Product with negative quantity': Used to buy (back) items from the customer instead of selling, useful for returns or buyback actions.
  • 'Deduct Loyalty Points': Deduct loyalty points from customers, not for redeeming points.
  • 'Gift Card (full service)': Create or top-up a gift card.
  1. Click on [Save].
  2. Now go to your physical POS (cash register).
  3. Go to [Settings].
  4. Refresh your POS with the [circular arrow] at the bottom right. The button will now be visible on the main menu of the POS.
